 Ajnish Vishwa Rai Prasad , singer, music director was born in 1972 in Darjeeling. He did his primary education in Bethany School. He then passed his I.C.S.E from St. Joseph's College (School Dept.) in 1989. He then got admission to a reputed college named Satya Sai Institute Of Higher Learning, South India. There he completed his B.Sc and M.Sc (Bio Science).

        Music was always in his heart but it was only during graduations that his music life actually started . He is currently residing in Mumbai and learning Indian Classical music under Ustad Dayal Thakur of Patiala Gharana. He even learnt Western Classical theory with M. Caglayan Yildiz of Turkey ( jazz guitarist and music arranger in Istanbul ). He also briefly studied violin under Mr Jiwan Sir of  Melody Academy (affiliated to Trinity College, London & Maren Tacke of Germany).

Ajnish has sung and arranged the following albums:
  • Devotional bhajans from Mumbai. ( Hindi )
  • Living God Series (1 - 20 ) volumes. ( Hindi )
  • Maa Sai ( Hindi )
  • O Sai Maa ( Hindi )
  • Golden Days (English)
  • Bliss ( Instrumental ) with Benoy Rai.
  • Mrituyanjaya Mahakal ( Nepali Bhajans )
  • Man Manthan ( Nepali Bhajans )
  • Krishna Trishna ( Nepali Bhajans )

He has recently brought out a Nepali Modern Songs Album called 'Anubhuti' (The Experience) which has become very popular in Darjeeling and currently available in the stands.

Current and Future Plans:

Ajnish is currently working out on an album with his band "Soul Band" .The band includes Benoy Rai ( guitarist ) and tablist Muthu Kumar.

The music he likes:

Pink Floyd, U2, Sting, Kitaro, Latin Music and folk musicians of different countries.
